Leaving Workshop Software for Motion

Your history comes across: customers, vehicles, suppliers, your parts list with stock on hand, your open jobs, and every invoice with its lines and what was paid on it, back to your first day. None of it is re-keyed.

What to export

We get on a short call with you and find Workshop Software’s own export area together. It moves depending on your version, so we would rather show you than guess.
From there you export six files: Customers, Vehicles, Suppliers, Products, History Headers and History Lines.
When you switch, send Motion the six exported files.

These files hold your full customer list. Send them to us directly, never through a shared inbox.

Every invoice with its lines, and what was paid on it, back to day one
Open jobs, priced exactly as they were, with any deposit
Quotes still waiting on the customer
What each customer still owes you
Your next invoice number, so numbering carries straight on

Doesn’t come across

Bookings in your old system’s diary: re-enter the upcoming ones before go-live
Staff logins
Voided invoices: Workshop Software leaves them out of its export
Credit notes as their own documents: the invoice still arrives paid, and any unused credit is listed for you
Photos and attachments
Purchase orders
Emails and texts
Oils as a separate list: they arrive as parts
